Excel automatic colour changes

my students are carrying out arithmetical calculations on the excel spreadsheets.  They enter figures in black but I have to enter marks in red. Everytime I change the colour to red it automatically changes back to black when I move to the next set of figures . Can I stop the constant change back to black?

It would be an advantage if you insert a file with the problem (without sensitive data), so you could come to a solution much faster and we might provide you with better solution proposals.

It's probably because of the formatting of the cells.
But you can only be sure if you could see the problem.
