We have newsletters that are renewed each year if the customer has paid. I am trying to set up a formula that says if cell (x) = Y then move the date in cell (y) forward a year. I am struggling to get this to work would anyone know how to do this?

In general that is job for VBA programming. There is the trick to use formulas enabling iterative calculations, first sample I found is Create A Timestamp In Excel With Formulas - How To Excel At Excel
