Double-Clicking to Widen Columns Won't Work

Brass Contributor

Hello All,

Double-clicking to widen columns won't work in office 365. I am not sure how to fix it.

Thanks,

Sam

Is that for any file or for some specific one and on which Excel you are?

Hi @Sergei Baklan

For all files

@SamFares

So, to be sure - you have something like this

position cursor between E and F (crest shall appear), double click and nothing happens?

@Sergei Baklan yes nothing happens. I attached the Excel sheet with my earlier message.

Thanks,

Sam

Solution

@SamFares

I have no problems with that.

Before:

Double click on border between E and F:

As a comment I'd recommend to avoid merged cells, lot of negative effects with them. Instead you may use Center Across Selection:

Thank you @Sergei Baklan

i had few Excel files opened for few days. After closing them, double clicking is working.

Very strange behavior!

Sam
