Digitization of Data and Forms

Copper Contributor

I have a form that I scribble in when counting loose threads.  I am trying to digitize that form while keeping it's current design for the sake of simplicity.  I desire to put text boxes around a circle at top, left, bottom and right-then I enter a count in each text box and have Excel subtotal in the center.  I would have a total of 12 sets of 5 circles each.  Eventually, I will add the subtotals together in sets.  I am able to draw text boxes into the existing form, but I haven't been able to get Excel to get the values from the four text boxes and add them up.  I can do all kinds of operations with data in columns and rows, but I don't seem to be able to do basic math operations with data that is scattered.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  I am happy to watch all the tutorials out there, but time is limited.  If anyone can provide hints that will get me closer to my goal, it would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think I am the right person to help you with your plans.

But I know that if you insert an Excel workbook (without sensitive data)

and explain your plan there in detail,

you would get a suggested solution much faster.

Of course, knowing your Excel version and operating system

would be of great advantage when sending the proposed workbook.

Thank you for your understanding and patience
