Desk booking formula problems

Created an HLOOKUP to show desk availability on an office layout diagram for any 30 minute interval.

 
Some of our desks are immediately opposite others and to maintain social distancing, I need to create a function that blocks availability of the opposing desk as soon as one of the pair is booked for use.

Has anyone any suggestions of what changes/conditions need to be added to my formula to accommodate this? Sample attached - those highlighted in pink (Row index 6:9) need changing.

Hi @FMRLL,

This is not the solution you were looking for but might worth looking at it. 

My approach is extremely simplistic where I paired the desks. instead of desk2 and desk3, you now have desk2/3. (see attached.)

So it's a different way to approach your problem.
