Deleting filesin excel and word

I have several documents that I change, rename change & rename on and on. I can not remove the older changed documents, I end up with a lot of useless documents saved that I need to remove but I cannot,  Help

Which operating system?

Which Office version?

Where are the files stored?

(OneDrive, Sharepoint, hard drive, USB, etc.).

Attach some photos with the problem and explain your concern/problem step by step on the basis of these photos.

Even better, insert one of these files (without sensitive data).
