I have a worksheet with several custom styles which has been handed down for possibly decades.
The file has several cell styles and names. I have macros to rebuild the styles, although, there are a few pesky styles which are not deleted during the rebuild.
I try to manually delete these styles - there are about 20 - but it won't delete. Upon further inspection, right-clicking on the style, selecting "Modify", and then unchecking the "Protected" check box appears to do nothing. Some of the styles I right-click on, but it brings up a different style.
In hopes I can clean this up versus rebuilding the entire file from scratch, is there anything else I can do to delete these styles? My organization did not allow the XLStylesKill program to be installed so i'm trying to be resourceful.
For what it's worth, one of the styles is named =C:\WINDOWS\System32\COMMAND.COM
