Default value for drop down list from a different cell in the same row

Good day,

I have created a drop down list that has 3 choices but would like to have a default value set based on the contents of another cell in the same row.  The contents of the other cell match 1 of the choices in the drop down list. I also need to copy this cell to other cells in the same column to cover multiple rows.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Success. Problem solved. I found out I could just reference the default value in the cell and it does not overlay the drop down list (Cell H5 with drop down list added "=I5"). The drop down list still functions as it should.
