Is there a way to return a text value (equivalent to a date formatted as “MM/DD/YYYY”) for a date in numerical format? I am trying to pull dates into Publisher via a mail merge from Excel, but the result is numerical rather than in the date format.

You may convert to text into another cell

=TEXT(A1,"MM/DD/YYYY")

You can use Custom Formatting to achieve the date format.

1. Select all the values

2. CTRL + 1

3. Click on Custom

4. Type in mm/dd/yyyy as seen in the caption below

5. Click OK

There you have the date
