Date Filter on PivotTable

I'm using a pivot table to make charts and graphs on Excel. I have added the date as a filter option, but when I click to filter by date, it shows each individual date. Is it possible to get this to show a higher level view such as year with the option to get more specific?

You may group dates (not necessary to show the in PivotTable after that) and use slicers and / or timeline instead

What do you mean under grouping? Filtering by them depends on each other.
