Hello,
I'm new here. Tell me if i'm asking at the false place. (Also.. i speak french)
How/where could I find help for the following mission:
I would like to create a database with the following informations:
Member ID | Name | Year | Club | Nationality |
Result | Rank |
Year of Competition | Type of competition |
And I'm confronted to the followings interrogations:
- What to put in the columns and what in the lines?
- When to use a new sheet?

without knowing any details about what you want to achieve, this is difficult to answer. I can't tell if the text you posted will be one database table or three.
If it is three tables, I suggest you put each table in its own sheet. The text you posted will be the column headers.
Then you can use another sheet for reporting. You may want to look into pivot tables, and if you need to connect the data from the different tables, look into Power Pivot.
Sorry, but without more details about your project, it's really hard to give advice.
