Data is not moving along with the cursor within a cell having large data.

I am facing a problem in excel where I have large amount of data in a particular cell and when I press F2 to edit, the content does not move with the curser. E.g. if I go down with in a cell the curser moves down but the content stays as it is. I have tried updating and repairing the MS office but still the problem persists. Kindly suggest a solution.

If you are experiencing an issue in Excel 365 where the data does not move along with the cursor when editing a cell with a large amount of data, it could be due to a setting or a bug. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Enable Wrap Text: Ensure that the "Wrap Text" option is enabled for the cell containing the large amount of data. This can be done by selecting the cell, going to the "Home" tab, and clicking the "Wrap Text" button in the "Alignment" group. This will allow the text to wrap within the cell and adjust as you move the cursor.
  2. Adjust Zoom Level: Try adjusting the zoom level in Excel. Sometimes, at certain zoom levels, the text may not appear to move along with the cursor properly. Go to the "View" tab and try changing the zoom level to see if it resolves the issue.
  3. Clear Excel Cache: Clearing the Excel cache can sometimes help with strange display issues. Close Excel, open the "Run" dialog by pressing Win + R, type %localappdata%\Microsoft\Office\ and press Enter. In the folder that opens, locate the Excel folder, and delete its contents. Restart Excel and check if the issue persists.
  4. Update Excel: Make sure that you have the latest updates installed for Excel. Open Excel, go to "File" > "Account" > "Office Updates" and click on "Update Options" > "Update Now" to check for and install any available updates. Restart Excel and see if the issue is resolved.
  5. Repair Office Installation: If the problem persists, you can try repairing the Office installation. Open the "Control Panel," go to "Programs" > "Programs and Features," locate Microsoft Office 365, right-click on it, and select "Change" or "Repair." Follow the prompts to repair the installation. Once the repair is complete, restart Excel and check if the issue is resolved.

IMHO, there is no scrolling within the cell.
