Crop or Trim Unused outer parts of the Excel Canvas

Most of my Excel problems revolve around having capacity issues because of the fact the canvas space is too large.  I wish there was a feature where we could trim or crop out the unused space similar to Google Sheets.

If we fat finger and overrun a formula down 1.4MM rows by mistake, the Excel file crashes!  WE DON"T NEED 1.4MM rows to start with.

Is Microsoft aware of this issue and will they ever create a feature to crop or trim out (as opposed to hide) unused canvas space, rows and columns?
