Copying a tab full of formulas to a new spreadsheet

Copper Contributor

I have a spreadsheet with a few tabs and a lot of data on it. I have created a new tab with some vlookup and filter formulas to display the data for easy viewing. All formulas are working great. The issue is when I try to copy the tab full of formulas from the test spreadsheet to the actual live spreadsheet.

I do this by creating a new tab on the live spreadsheet, Select the new formulas tab on the test worksheet by clicking the upper left to select the entire tab. I then tried both copy and cut and then paste it into the live spreadsheet. Everything looks great, formulas are working as expected.

But once I close the test/source worksheet all the formulas switch from pointing to the internal live spreadsheet to pointing to the external test worksheet.

How do I move a tab full of formulas from one spreadsheet to another without it referencing the old spreadsheet? I've tried both copy and cut, neither are working.

I found a solution! I simply changed all the = to something else, copied it then renamed all back to =, as explained in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWhGVZ-R-6g
