copy from 2 + cells in excel file to 1 cell in another excel file

Copper Contributor

Previously I could copy information from 2 + cells in excel file to 1 cell in another excel file. Since my 365 update this no longer works. I checked with another colleague and they can still do this after the update so think it could be an issue with my excel settings or something. Not entirely sure to be honest but It is very time consuming during month to not have this option so hoping someone can help.

What exactly do you mean by "copy information from 2 + cells in excel file to 1 cell"?

@Hans Vogelaar

@Hans Vogelaar to copy a and b to one cell in another excel :)

tried to put in a photo, but it didnt work. so i will try to write it: if i copy text from 1C and 1D and want to insert (both text) to another excel file in for example just 1A

Although it's still possible, recent versions of Excel have indeed made that much more difficult.

As a workaround, copy the cells (Ctrl+C), then paste them into Notepad (Ctrl+V).

Select the pasted text, and copy it (Ctrl+C).

Switch to the target workbook, and select the target cell.

Press F2 to edit the cell, then Ctrl+V to paste.

Okay, thank you very much for your reply!
I will do it like that!
Thank you
