Hi! I watched a video about coping census records to an excel spreadsheet. I have followed the command:
on the census
ctrl A to highlight
ctrl C to copy
on new spreadsheet
rt click in the cell
special paste
text
ok
and it always copies down a single column.
The video shows it expanded as it was copied. What am I doing wrong? Does the spreadsheet need to be formatted in a special way to accept it?

You probably need to select the data in the single column, then click Text to Columns on the Data tab of the ribbon.
