Conditional Formatting Help

Copper Contributor

Good morning was looking for a way to format my excel sheet based on slips being staple. Currently I reference the group by marking an X after the group number. Down below I will post an example of what I mean.

Currently the best I've been able to do is to just highlight the slip # when it finds and X by the group number, but I would like to box the group as well.

Any help would be highly appreciated it

You can use a short formula to do this:

@Patrick2788 thank you for the quick response. What I want to do is box the slips between each X. The X is my indicator to let me know those slips are stapled together. The highlight is just telling me that the start of the stack stapled but I don't always have the same number of slips grouped. This is what I would like it to look like.

In your initial description you say "...but I would like to box the group as well". On the other hand your in last reply the Group are not boxed. Quite confusing so not sure the following is what you want:

@Lorenzo I am so sorry for the confusion I pasted the wrong screenshot, but you got the right idea. This was the correct screenshot I wanted to add. I'll look at your excel sheet when I get home cause the work computers they don't let me download anything....

@Lorenzo thank you for all the help this worked but unfortunately after looking at it can't implement it because my worksheet has all boarders already and conditional formatting limits me to only a soft boarder which ends up looking the same. If my worksheet was borderless all around and applied this, it would work. Again, thanks for all the help your method worked
