Conditional Formatting for ISTEXT

Copper Contributor

Good morning,

I am still new and learning to work with all of excels functions. Currently, I am trying to update a document at work so we do not have to manually change the colors of an entire line.

I have been highlighting the whole selected row and using a =ISTEXT formula through conditional formatting. I then have been checking the specific cell I want to use for when text is entered, the entire row changes green. I have been having issues copying this format to multiple rows. I tried format painter and copy and dragging the formula. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Ex: Row 24 is highlighted then conditional format using "use which formula to determine which cells to format" then enter =ISTEXT($U$24) and select the color. I am trying to get row 25 to go off of U25, 26 to U26 and so on for the sheet. Each time I paint or copy it is makes all the rows go off of the original cell.

@Kevinnn912 Change the CF formula to:

=ISTEXT($U24)

and it should work as desired.

@Riny_van_Eekelen that worked, thank you for the help!

@Kevinnn912 Glad it worked!
