I need a formula to highlight an entire row of data when a date is entered into a cell. The date will not be static and not a specific parameter. I have a report that shows when an approval has been sent out, when it is expected, and a column for when it was received. If a date shows in the received column that is when I need that data line to be highlighted.
I hope that makes sense.
TIA

See the attached. Let me just add, writing Conditional Formatting rules can be frustratingly confusing if you've not done it a LOT.....so be patient with yourself and don't be afraid to make mistakes. You're not going to break anything.

The column where the formula is dependent is J.
The formula I created highlights cell A2.
I would like it to highlight the entire report (only a snippet is shown for reference).
Where am I going wrong?

Well, for one thing, J2 (assuming that's the column headed "Approval Received") IS blank. So that would have the effect of not highlighting the range. Why A2 is getting highlighted, I can't explain. As I said, I often find Conditional Formatting requires testing and tweaking.
Keep playing with it would be my advice. And if you still need help, post a copy of the actual spreadsheet (or a mockup with fake data, if the real one contains confidential data). Images can't be explored and tweaked.
