Change which program opens embedded files in excel

Hi All - my office utilizes Excel spreadsheets to organize docs that we create and edit. Within those spreadsheets, we have hyperlinks to specific documents. The issue is that our default PDF viewer program is Adobe Acrobat DC, but we actually create and edit those specific PDF files using PDF Converter Professional. If we link to the files thru Excel, it automatically opens the files with the default Adobe Acrobat DC. Is there a way to force Excel to bypass the default program and instead open up the PDF document using the PDF Converter Profesional program? We DO NOT want to change our default PDF program permanently, as that could potentially create issues with sensitive/legal documents that we view for other tasks but cannot be altered. We utilize Office 365, Excel Version 1808, Windows 10 Enterprise. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
