can anybody help me using SUMIFS Function or other functions to deal with this issue?

can any genius help me to use the excel function to do the calculation of the fruits? I was trying to use COUNTIF or AGGREGATE, but failed:

• I planned to make the count rule as:
  • the first apple appeared in column A will be counted as 1
  • the second apple appeared in column A will be counted as 2
• other fruits will be also counted in the same rule.

NOTE that the secret sauce to Riny's equation is the use of the $ in $B$3 because as you copy down those $ force that reference to stay the same while the other reference B3 without the $ will offset accordingly to B4, then B5, .... etc....
