Breaking ties using large and small functions, please read

Copper Contributor

Hi,

I have a workbook that uses dates and has 5 columns of data.

The data (whole numbers) are listed in order as they appear, and there are repeats.

I am trying to rank them by last appeared dates, but if these numbers happened the same amount of time I am getting stuck. It looks like excel will just give the same value as 1st, 2nd etc.

Boss says I can not add files, they are company property etc.

Any suggestions?

Hello @Joe Weischedel ,

How about you create a small data sample with dummy data. We don't need to see the original if a sample workbook with dummy data has the same structure and shows the same challenges.

Ok, here is a sample.

There are repeats, and I am trying to break the ties, then list .
So, if say 300 happens the same # of times as 400, I would want one to be #1, another #2 etc.
Thanks in advance for any help
