Hello,
I am trying to apply autofill to produce the following, for example:
=(column A+column B)*cell C1
The result I am trying to achieve is autofilling the columns, but keeping the cell fixed, e.g.:
=(A1+B1)*C1
=(A2+B2)*C1
=(A3+B3)*C1
etc.
What I get using autofill is:
=(A1+B1)*C1
=(A2+B2)*C2
=(A3+B3)*C3
etc.
I then have to go through manually amending the C cell values to C1.
Any suggestions greatly received.
Many thanks

Solution@pphardwicke In stead of entering C1, enter $C$1. This fixes both the column and the row.

@pphardwicke Most welcome. I guess you can predict what happens when you remove either of the $ signs. And, as a fellow Mac user, just one more tip. Select to reference in the the formula bar that needs to be made (partially) absolute, and then press cmd-t. C1 changes to $C$1. Press cmd-t again and it becomes C$1, again and it becomes $C1, again and it goes back to C1.
