i have an issue with opening Excel 97 xls files, they now suddenly open in "protection mode" This is happening after August 31 2020.
message; PROTECTED VIEW office has detected a problem with this file Editing may harm your computer
I get this message opening the file either from the office network drive AND from my local c: drive. Note that I did not have this issue until August 31st when I last ran the Macro that opens these files and processes its contents to another workbook. also Note that the files from August, that opened with no issues in August now also open with this "error message"
this only applies to only applies to *.xls file types i.e. Excel 97 format
