Array help

Copper Contributor

I have an array like this.

date 1

deb 1

calc 1

desc 1

ck 1

cred 1

cat 1

date 2

deb 2

calc 2

desc 2

ck 2

cred 2

cat 2

date 3

deb 3

calc 3

desc 3

ck 3

cred 3

cat 3

I want to build a second array on the same sheet like this.

date 2

deb 2

calc

desc 2

cred 2

calc

The criteria I want to use is if a certain category, say cat 2, is found in array 1, then I want to copy the data from that row in array 1 to populate the cells in array 2.  In other words, if cat 2 is found in array 1 then I want date 2 to copy from array 1 to array 2, deb 2 to copy from array 1 to array 2, desc 2 to copy from array 1 to array 2, and cred 2 to copy from array 1 to array 2.  Any suggestions?

Watch this video and see if the FILTER function would do what you're seeking to do. From your description, I think it will. FILTER does require the most current version of Excel, however.
