The datepicker control has been removed from Office, alternatively you can use something like this: http://rondebruin.nl/win/addins/datepicker.htm

Office add-in called Mini Calendar and Date Picker via Insert Start>Options>Get add-ins, please try to check if it could meet your need and i would be happy to find out if I could help.

A little like on the thumb wouldn't hurt either :)
