Activating data type to do map charting

I am trying to get data type to activate so i can access geography to do map charting. The data type is remaining greyed out in the tool bar and is not enabling activation.

Availability of data types depends on your version of Excel, but in general you don't need Geography data type for Map Charts - it works with usual ranges/tables.
