About Date formatting

Hello All,

 I have a doubt. When i format date cell then i am not able to customize according to my need. Like it didn't change at all. Could you people help me so that it'll be more appreciable? I am also attaching workbook for which i need help And in that workbook cell under Subject  the (Date) is not changed accordingly and in other cell it works fine. How this happen please help me to find ?

That's since you have texts instead of actual dates. As variant select column, on ribbon Data->Text to Columns and on third step

after that apply proper date format to the result.

Thank you for your time. I was doing accordingly but it didn't work for me at all.

Kindly provide me feasible solution or macro so that i'll go through it.

Okay, exactly for your sample file

1) Select part of the column with dates and Text to Columns

2) Select source date format and check that destination is correct

3) Click Finish

4) Press Ctrl+1 and select date format

5) Click Ok. Now you have texts as dates converted to dates

Excel Online has limited functionality and Text to Columns doesn't work such way in it. Alternatively you may use formula like

and apply to the result desired date format
