The Azure Well-Architected Framework is a set of guiding tenets that can be used to improve the quality of a workload. The framework consists of five pillars of architecture excellence: Cost Optimization, Operational Excellence, Performance Efficiency, Reliability, and Security. Incorporating these pillars helps produce a high quality, stable, and efficient cloud architectures.
Security is one of the most important aspects of any architecture. It provides confidentiality, integrity, and availability assurances against deliberate attacks and abuse of your valuable data and systems. Losing these assurances can negatively impact your business operations and revenue, as well as your organization’s reputation in the marketplace. Information Security has always been a complex subject, and it evolves quickly with the creative ideas and implementations of attackers and security researchers.
The Well-Architected Security Assessment helps you to understand your areas of strength as well as opportunities to improve the security of your Azure workload. It helps evaluating your implementation across application design, health modelling, networking, security and compliance, operational procedures, deployment and testing, DevOps, and identity and access. At the end of a Well-Architected Security Assessment you receive recommendations on optimizations that will improve your Azure workload security.
