IE mode was working prior to 92.0.902.67. Pages that should open in IE mode show error and open in IE window. Nothing has changed in 92.0.902.73 either. This happens with all windows 7 (64bit and 32bit). There were reports that about issues with older windows 10 builds, that were working before, but that maybe solved by upgrading to latest builds. With windows 7 we don't have such option.

@mindst Hi!  Thanks for reaching out!  I took a quick look and I'm not seeing any known issues specifically for IE mode on Windows 7.

I think for this it might be best to reach out to Support (https://microsoftedgesupport.microsoft.com/hc/en-us)  It might be necessary to gather logs and they should be able to help investigate your specific case.
