EDGE Chromium Stable and EDGE (HTML) legacy does not run side by side

Brass Contributor

Hello, after Installation from EDGE Chromium Stable Version I could not start the EDGE HTML Version. If I start over the Link Microsoft Edge Legacy I get short a Black screen and also all Explorer windows are closed. It looks like the explorer process is crashing.
My installation proceed was:

OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit (1803) 10.0.17134.1246
First activate the side by side setting by Policy => Allow Microsoft Edge Side by Side browser experience. (Reboot)
Install EDGE Chromium MicrosoftEdgeEnterpriseX64.msi (Reboot)
Then I have both links Microsoft Edge Legacy and Microsoft Edge. The new Edge chromium is working as expected but the EDGE legacy is not working.

Same experience for me,  I added an additional Information and Screenshot to the already existing thread https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-edge/edge-legacy-does-not-launch-after-installing-e...

I found a possible Workaround:

Microsoft Documentation confirms the Bug now:

Warning

When using Windows Update deployment there is a known issue with the Allow Side by Side policy that produces a broken shortcut to Microsoft Edge Legacy in the all apps list. We recommend that you do not deploy with these methods or enable the AllowSxS policy until this issue can be resolved.

@re_bl I found a workaround in reddit post

And it is working for me. Just right click in Edge Icon (taskbar or microsoft menu) and click New Window or New InPrivate Window
