Advise on how to disable all passwords settings from user end

Copper Contributor

Hi there,

I work for D&B Supply as a I.T. System Support Specialist and learning how to lock settings in Edge so the user can't edit. I have figured out majority of this with Registry keys but stuck on how to disable two settings in Edge version 111.0.1661.41. How would you go in to disable Automatically Save Passwords and Autofill Passwords with Dword keys? Any advise for this would be greatly appreciated as everything I have seen is from Edge before the two settings were added. Thank you for your help and have a great day!

@TYODER11 Hi!  Have you tried to use the PasswordManagerEnabled policy?  https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployedge/microsoft-edge-policies#passwordmanagerenabled

Please note, the policy does say that "If you disable this policy, users can't save and add new passwords, but they can still use previously saved passwords."

Hi Kelly_Y,

I have and it worked to disable offer to save passwords just not sure about Automatically save passwords and Autofill passwords. I did learn a new trick today by using URLBlocklist and adding edge://settings/ to disable the user from accessing all settings in Edge. This is the route we are going to go with if anyone else wants to use the same idea for their company!
