Assessments just got faster: introducing quizzes in Microsoft Teams

When teachers create and distribute an assignment in Microsoft Teams, they can do a lot to customize it for their students: add rubrics, attach a Class Notebook page, even queue it up to be assigned later…the list goes on.

Today, we're adding even more power to your assignment workflow by integrating Microsoft Forms directly into Teams! Assessments just got easier than ever to distribute and grade. Let's dive into how this works so you can try it out today with your students.

Attach an existing quiz—or create a new one on the fly.

To send a Microsoft Forms quiz to your students, you'll find a new option under the "Create" button dropdown titled "New quiz". There, you can select a Microsoft Form you’ve already created and send it along. But you can also start fresh and create a whole new assessment. Because when it comes to the classroom, we’re all about options and flexibility.

One quiz, sent to multiple classes at once.

We also think saving time is pretty cool (and we think you’ll agree). With your assessments built into Teams Assignments, you can distribute the same quiz to multiple classes at once. We doubt you’ll miss all the photocopying, stapling, and filing for all your classes.

From easy distribution to auto-synced grading.

With access to your quizzes within Teams, you get to combine the distribution ease of Teams Assignments with the reporting functionalities of Forms assessments. When students submit completed Forms quizzes, you can leverage auto-grading, feedback, and scores, right in Teams.

We're so excited for you to try out this new integration with your students in Microsoft Teams!

Any questions, give me a shout any time. Thank you for being part of the Microsoft Education community and thank you for your commitment to students! :blue_heart:

Done, thank you for adding this great improvement to Teams.

Any chance for a similar feature with Sway? Having Elementary aged students complete assignments using the assignments feature in Teams would be great.  It would make projects using Sway, easier for students to complete and easier for teacher to review as well.

Hi Justin & team.

Thank very much for this awesome update.

Just tested it and it works perfectly.

I have even scheduled my first Form quizzes in Teams for my 11th-graders for tomorrow.

If you want, have a look at my tweet and video

Thank you Justin, I've been working with Microsoft support, I just received an update. They found the root cause for the error and are working on adding a fix. Once we receive the fix, I can then promote this new feature throughout our entire school district.

Will it be possible for students to submit their FORMS a few times before submission date? ( Just as it is currently the case with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OneNote assignments ). If so, will the teacher be able to track the different versions of the students' work ? That would be awesome!

I can't find the Assignment tab in my Microsoft Teams App, can anyone help me? I would like to set this up in order to add quizzes for our staff in this tab.

Hi @NaomiSteiner - you must create a "Class" team type. This is when you'll see the Assignments tab in all of its glory :) You can find more info in this support article.

My students are unable to see their "per question" feedback.  Is this a real bug or are they doing something wrong. Is there a fix or workaround for this?

What they describe matches what is described here:
