We have switched from using FOG imaging and creating images to using AutoPilot for deploying computers this summer and taking advantage of the OEM preloading all new computers into our Intune portal. This is very rewarding to be on the other side, but to get to this point, it was a little painful.
Would be great to see more resources with helping us and other district migrate to the modern deployments and how to simplify deployments for schools. Also, we have ran into challenges with a hybrid joined device when it comes to resetting it. Not sure if there is still issues or things being developed for this to touch/update all spots (store, intune, and AD) to clean up data to properly reset and do hybrid join. We are using 1903 build.
