Suggestions for low cost online Card Sort tool?

Steel Contributor

Looking for suggestions for a low-cost online card sorting tool.

I'm sure we can all agree that the correct IA is key for good usability and adoption.

We're going to re-do our navigation to better serve our users and looking for a card sort tool that we can use to gather data on how to best organize.

Optimal sort has a freemium level which I have used in the past. Limits to a certain number of cards and responses. Handy for small pieces of work. The paid models will give you the full experience, but i haven't compared the costs to other tools. https://www.optimalworkshop.com

@Eric Adler check out UX Metrics.

They have totally free card sorting and tree testing tools with unlimited studies and participants.

Hi Eric!

I would recommend you to try UXtweak! They are a UX research platform build for usability testing, information architecture research, and user behaviour analytics. They offer a free plan!

Card Sorting is one of the tools they offer.

They run fully customizable Open, Closed and Hybrid Card sorting studies, and they have an innovative solution for participant recruitment with their Recruitment Widget allowing users to convert their website visitors into study participants.

I was very satisfied with their tools.

UXtweak is a good low-cost option for card sorting. They support all the cs types + image sorts.

There is a free plan and it's unlimited in time, paid subscription is somewhere around $49 per month. Used the tool myself for card sorting and can definitely recommend it, the analytics are superb. They also have a tree testing tool, you can use them in combination when building your IA

We were choosing between them and Optimal workshop and they are much cheaper and the analytics are better
