Why is spell check processing links?

this alone makes the spell check kind of super annoying to use. i understand that you do not want to use google's enhanced dictionary but it definitely needs improvements.

It's because that is not a link,

a link would look like this, which is clickable and once clicked on, it takes you to that web page in new tab.

in your screenshot, that text is not yet converted to a link for whatever reason

Also Windows Spellchecker is better,

you can try it by enabling this flag in: edge://flags/
