What will happen with old Edge PDF features among others?

Copper Contributor

I have been checking the new Microsoft Edge since it was first made publicly available for everyone to test it out. I have been liking it so far, but now that it has been officially released I was wondering if these PDF viewer features: being able to highlight text, change drawing and highlight color, adding notes, changing the view, and table of contents were going to be transferred over to the new Edge. Also, what will happen to setting tabs aside and asking cortana within Edge about selected text.

Hi

The developers has said that they are all going to be implemented.

in fact, among the PDF related features you named, only add notes is not implemented yet. the rest of them are available in Canary channel which I am using right now. in 1 month or 2, they will make their way into Stable channel too.

as for Set tabs aside, Tab thumbnails and other Edge exclusive features, they are also planned and under review. they are on the top feedback list so you can be sure the developers know how important those features are for us.

@HotCakeX Thank you very much for your detailed reply! I am very glad to see that these features aren't going to stay behind. I will download the Canary version to check it out. Again, thanks!

You're welcome ^^
of course not, there are so many people that want them back :)

What about the table of contents?

Another feature I deeply appreciated in the older version was the automatic paragraph and line break remover.

I mainly use Edge as a pdf reader, but now I am facing all the problems I used to have on other browsers and pdf readers.

Hi,
please send your feature requests from feedback button on browser, according to the developers that's the best way to let them know we want a feature :)
