When not using vertical tabs in full screen mode, one can easily flick the mouse all the way to the top of the screen towards a desired tab to switch to. Since the tabs extend all the way to the edge of the screen, it makes it easy to select. (That is the clickable area of the tab)
However, in vertical tabs the tabs do not extend to the edge of the screen. The mouse overshoots the the tab easily and you have to move it back towards the centre of the screen to select it. This is extremely annoying and way less efficient.
For me at least, this seems like an easy fix that would greatly increase enjoyment and efficiency of use. It is a basic design principle that this would reduce task time when selecting a tab.
