Greetings, Insiders! We have a very small update this week, so let’s hop right into it.
We’re excited to announce that we are marking Bring the tab set aside feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge as Alternative Planned. While we don’t have any details around the alternative right now, the team will update everyone here as we get them.
And that’s it! To prepare you all, there will be some breaks with the upcoming US holidays. This month, the final week of November is when we celebrate Thanksgiving and we will not have updates that week. We'll be sure to notify you again as we get closer to the holidays. Chat at you all in next week’s update!

@MissyQ Set tabs aside allows me to start fresh with just one click, and restore the browser to a previous state later with two clicks, including the history for each tab and the scroll position on the pages. If the alternative you implement doesn't allow me to do that as easily, I will be very disappointed. And I guess it won't; otherwise, why would you call it an alternative?
just wanted to know if we really are going to get this in November:

i haven't seen any sign of this on Edge Canary or Dev channels. the same tab preview from Edge legacy is different than tab preview that we have right now on Edge Dev/Canary which is coming from chrome/chromium.
if i was me i will push later : Voice search on google.com doesn’t work since i think edge user muse use bing more than google ? no ? i hope to see in time : Bring the tab preview feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge because it's an awesome feature. YES !!!!! Allow sign-in to the browser with a Google account isn't planned good choice Microsoft TEAM !!
Can you add some animations to the edge? like this-https://twitter.com/MicrosoftEdge/status/1326223161491329026 at 0:04 seconds, It has no productivity kind of advantage, but I bet 50% of users don't care about productivity, Those subtle things will draw people.
If its just the skin of chromium it couldn't have gained more attention, but you are brining those vertical tabs, you already have collection, So adding some nice transitions can make the Edge even more better, So is there any thought of adding?
I know that those transitions won't be smooth if the specs aren't good, so can give an option to enable it manually.
What @MarinM said about set tabs aside restoring history for each tab and the scroll position on the pages is critically important to me as well. The original implementation allowed a user to start fresh in one click without loosing nothing at all.
And yeah like hotcakex asked, have you guys postponed tab previews to somewhen later ?
@Deleted Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I loved the transition animation. Would absolutely want it implemented. If done correctly like this, subtle animations make using the software a more organic experience. Just nicer in general.
I'd like to add a feature that allows you to open favorites in a new tab with a single left mouse button, instead of covering the current using page. I know that using the CTRL or middle mouse button can solve the problem, but the user experience is not good. Thank you.
@HotCakeX Thank you very much for your reply, but I would like to make a few points. First of all, when you click, the left mouse button is more comfortable and easier to press than the middle mouse button. Second, whether it is the middle mouse button or CTRL+ pressing left mouse button to open the favorites, the page will open in the background without jumping to a new page. Of course, pressing Ctrl + Shift + left mouse button at the same time can achieve the desired effect, but it is very troublesome. It is not as convenient as clicking the left mouse button to open the favorite. Finally, I also hope that developers can see my suggestion and open a separate post for users to discuss the practicability of this function. Thank you very much.
