Welcome back to the Top Feedback Summary, Insiders! We have a lot of quick updates coming at you this week after our small break, so let’s hop into it.
We’re marking several items as Addressed. The ability to ink on web pages has been around for a little bit, and we are now closing that item out this week. History sync has been available in our Canary and Dev channels for a bit, and we’re now comfortable marking this as addressed. Lastly, users can now use voice search on google.com in our Canary and Dev channels! If you aren’t seeing this option when you head to a site that has voice options, head to edge://flags to turn on the msSpeechRecognition flag. This should also fix issues with websites like Duolingo, which use the same feature. Please let us know if you spot any issues with this!
Today we are updating both Bring the tab preview feature from the current version of Microsoft Edge and Support two-page layout in PDF reader to Planned for January. The tab preview feature is something some Insiders have spotted, and we continue to work on it based on feedback we receive. We also announced that two-page support is now available in our Dev channel, however we are holding on closing it out for a bit as we continue to gather more feedback from users like yourselves. If you would like to give this feature a shot, we encourage you to open a multiple page PDF document and click the Page View button for those layout options.
That’s it for this week’s update. Have you checked out Josh’s change summary post recently? Every week when we update this feedback list, Josh also posts up every change that was made in the build, along with known issues. Head over to his post to get a glimpse of the updates and improvements we’ve made!

Can we have a 'needs to be re-addressed' category?
The way 'Provide run / open / save / save as options when downloading files' has been addressed has broken every single download extension I've tried in both the Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome extension stores.
Why do I need a download extension? Because I have very frequently needed to be able to keep an eye on the download speed and predicted remaining time when downloading large files (to e.g. restart a stalled/slowed download rather than only find out there was a problem up to hours later and have to start again). And I ALWAYS need to have downloads download to different locations depending on what they are. ALL of the extensions that provide alternative download bars at the bottom or on mouseover of a toolbar button presume that the download location has been set before the download starts and they kick in. Which is how things work in Firefox and Google Chrome, adn how they USED to work in this Edge. But now it isn't. NOW the extension kicks in on clicking the download target WITHOUT presenting the dialogue to set the target location, the download is made to the Downloads folder with an 'Unconfirmed-' prefix on the download file name, and the download proceeds until it reaches 99% and stalls. One THEN has to open the Edge download page, and THERE, AFTER the download, there is the new 'open. save, save as' option, where using the 'save as' finally opens the save dialogue, and only then is the downloaded file completed, has the unconfirmed- removed from the file name, and the file moved to the wanted location.
This is dreadful, and is sufficient on its own for me not to use Edge as my main, or even my backup browser.
You need to re-address this so that Edge works with all the Edge and Chrome download helper extensions it DID work with before you made this change. The choice and location setting need to be finalized BEFORE the download actually starts, and the download should be to the newly set location or a temp folder, not the Downloads folder, when the location is set elsewhere.
As Edge is unusable to me like this as I make at least a few, often many, downloads every day, I will now restrict my use of Canary and Edge to one test run and check to see if this has been fixed per release.

I very much heart vertical tabs. I've been using them for a while and vertical now feels so backwards.
I'm not sure if it's you, but I regularly use the "Continue on PC" option from the phone and share to Your Phone. Awesome-Awesome-Awesome. A custom one-click share button(s) would be nice. For example: I like the ability to "share" to my phone, but it requires too many clicks.
I'm finally feeling some love for Collections. I would like an easier way to add a page to a collection without having to go into that collection. Currently I drag the URL into the collection, but that requires dragging across the entire screen.
Password management is too far from LastPass's offering, so I'll continue to hold off on that for a while.
Your team has really been cranking out solid, useful, and significant changes. Thanks!!!

Hi,
you can also right-click anywhere on the page (or hold finger on touch screen) and add page to collection
or highlight a piece of text, picture etc, then right-click to add it to collection.

It was expected and normal that extensions made for Chrome don't work in Edge, because they are 2 different browsers, only sharing the same engine.
more radical changes might come to Edge in the future, and it's not Edge developers' fault, they simply brought the same feature from Edge legacy back to the new Edge, because it was what people asked for.
so there are 2 things here:
1. you can't expect extensions made for Chrome to work on other browsers, such as Edge.
2. extension developers didn't do their job correctly and shipped the same version of their extension made for Chrome, to Edge webstore. this change isn't new, they had enough time to evaluate insider channels of Edge but they didn't. so it's better to ask extension developers to make their tools compatible.
" I have very frequently needed to be able to keep an eye on the download speed and predicted remaining time when downloading large files "
when you download a file, you see at the bottom how much data is remaining to finish the download and also you see the time remaining. it's the same for small/big files.
so that's 2 variables.
the 3rd variable you're asking for, the speed, is shown in edge://downloads/all
as you see it's a long array of texts to cram into that small rectangle at the bottom of Edge for each download, but if you want to see the speed in there, (all 3 variables), you can request it as feedback from Edge browser, they might have to expand the download thingy at the bottom.

I can't find 'msSpeechRecognition' flag either and the old method via 'msedge.exe --enable-features=msSpeechRecognition' is giving me the same network error as ever (since introduction few weeks ago).

@HotCakeX Oh, yeah -- the context menu is another way of adding to a collection, but context menus make me sad. With Collections pinned, it would be nice to home something like this:
