These Sleeping Tabs Are Not Helpful

Tabs will fall asleep after a few minutes of clicking on a separate tab, which reloads when I return. This, unfortunately, has led to me losing work many times because most sites have an auto-save feature instead of a save button. I lost my writing with Amazon KDP, and it's very upsetting.

I understand your pain - but Edge in the settings > System, performance > you can of course disable it .

Have you checked it before?
