@HotCakeXOk, cool :) I know this browser is built for everyone ;)

Yes no one said otherwise

I am using Version 89.0.731.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit), that download to-day, I cannot see the in the context menu and nothing happens when I press Ctrl+Shift+x  keys.

Please advise.

Hi,

Smart copy isn't in Dev yet, only in Canary,

in the change log there is no mention of it either. I'm assuming it will come with the next major update of Dev channel which will be early next year.

@HotCakeXPlease do not spread misinformation, I contacted the Edge team about it: here is the response to my feedback:
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in the feature!
Smart copy feature is currently being rolled out to canary and dev channels.
100% of canary users and 25% of dev channel users have been onboarded already.
The remaining Dev channel users will be onboarded in the next few weeks.
Edge Stable ship smart copy in the upcoming months.

first of all don't copy me ;)

there is no misinformation,

second, like I said there is no mention of it in change log, that's based on the information available to insiders, and that is not misinformation, learn the difference.

third, they're already making it confusing by running experiments in places where it shouldn't be happening.

fourth, in that thread I commented "Looks like Smart Copy will come to Dev next year", and the developers obviously saw that comment but didn't say Dev has it already, so again there is someone else to blame.

I can't see Smart Copy in either Dev 89.0.731.0 or Canary 89.0.736.0. Ctrl-Shift-X does nothing and there's no flag to enable it.

yes that's expected for some insiders.

@HotCakeX I know, ok, but next time send feedback including your email address when there is a missing feature.

you do your thing, I know what to do.

Done
Thanks!

@Kam

I forgot to mention this, whoever told you Smart copy is rolled out to 100% of canary users is wrong.

it is still a controlled feature rollout, it is still Not available to everyone in every region, even in Canary.

if they are not aware of this fact, tell them to reply to this post and I'll give them more info.

that picture up there is my proof. there is no way to disable Smart copy from right-click menu.

I will send feedback about that as well. I kinda fill the right click menu is very cluttered now though
@HotCakeX, maybe you have to send feedback yourself. They won't reply to me even after almost a week.

I don't need to, because based on the information publicly available, I was right about it.

@HotCakeX, sure. Fine with me :)

Some of those features are duplicate and some of them are not used by everyone.

user needs to have full control over them.

  1. i use CTRL + P for print, instead of right-click.
  2. Web capture icon from toolbar instead of right-click.
  3. never use cast option in right-click.
  4. rarely use "view page source" in right-click
  5. never use "inspect" in right click, i use developer tools for it instead.
  6. never use refresh in right-click, i use refresh button on toolbar or F5
  7. never use back/forward buttons on right-click, i use back/forward buttons on the toolbar.
  8. and more.
