we are currently on SharePoint 2016 version. We have configured SharePoint enterprise search to search content from local file share location. Currently these search results are clickable only in Internet Explorer. when we try to click on the search results from chrome browser, nothing happens. when we enable chrome extension "Enable local file links" on the chrome browser, we are able to access the local file links from SharePoint.
With the latest Microsoft Edge browser based on chromium engine, can we see this feature working. with the current Edge browser, this feature currently fails to open the links from SharePoint.
