Can Edge open XML files like Internet Explorer does?

Yes it can, i just tested it now on version 81. I remember I could also open XML files in the new Edge since version 78

Just to back to this thread. I just want to add, my computer is now on browser Microsoft Edge Version 95.0.1020.40 (Official build) (64-bit) with OS Windows 10 Enterprise Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042, but still there is no possibility to set MS Edge as the default app for XML (.xml) files as MS IE 11 does. (1)  We need this to be set to default to MS Edge before MS IE 11 retirement on June 2022.  Is there a way to do it automatically?
