No audio on Microsoft Edge

Brass Contributor

Hi!

My Edge Chromium is not playing sound.

I managed to fix Chrome using this flag: --try-supported-channel-layouts

But Edge does not have that flag.

Is there a way to make Edge to support that?

Thanks!

But I don't have a Realtek audio card =/

Microsoft answered me on the Edge feedback program and told me that, at the moment, they don't intend to fix this...

That is sooo strange in so many ways.
They proudly announced 2015 that they now was together wit Dolby Digital.

Google Chrome used to work but in december after upgrade the flags didnt work.

That Microsoft makes it kinda hard to use both edge legacy and chromium.

That in 2020 is no more browsers that just pass through a 5.1 signal to digital out.

Why is Neflix the only one with a App for windows that makes this work?
Why not HBO and viaplay etc. Amazon?

How is the signal for the hdmi? Is it 2 channel as well?

I think it got something to do with dolby chipset. But still a mp4 5.1 should just be passed through to digital out

Hi! Thanks once again, but for me that was not the problem.

My Edge has sound on the default speakers, but it doesn't has sound on the headphones.

The only solution for me is this, ATM:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --disable-audio-output-resampler --try-supported-channel-layouts

Changing the shortcut I'm able to hear sound on every device.
