New Edge Chromium removes persistent tab previews and I wish to downgrade now

Copper Contributor

The new version of Edge based on Chromium is a fantastic update! However, it removed the main feature of edge that always made me ditch other browsers. The ability to view tab previews as full windows persistently at the top of the screen is now gone. There is no toggle button anymore. Eventually there will be hover previews, but even that is a long shot from the efficiency of the full tabs window previews.

Edge already is a competing browser and is equal if not better in every way than the competition. The full tab window previews were icing on the cake. With them gone the browser is just like everything else now and I may as well switch back to chrome for the google integration.

I am not sure why such a huge feature would just be erased from the browser...

Anyway, I was really hoping I could revert my Edge to the older version. If this cannot be done it would be a shame because I want to keep using this browser but cannot justify it without that feature.

I may be in the minority here, but seems like a huge step backwards. How can I downgrade?

To downgrade, just uninstall Edge Chromium. Edge will be back.
Hi,
yes Tab previews aren't available in any of Edge channels yet, including the experimental ones (beta/dev/canary) but it is still on the top feedbacks list :)

also as suggested above you can uninstall the stable Edge the same way you uninstall any program/app on your computer.

There is also another way, you can run both Legacy and new Edge side by side, together.

here is how:

@jlguida  Well put, I feel exactly the same about Edge Chromium missing tab previews.
