Need a more advanced font configuration

Edge lacks a well configuration for fonts.

Google Chrome needs an extension for this, which is insane

Could you help us understand how you use the advanced font configuration settings and what scenarios or tasks that helps you accomplish in the browser? What settings do you use and why? What would you like to see instead?

The default font settings on Chromium can only set fonts for all locales. For instance, I can't set typefaces for Chinese texts without affecting Japanese kanji or Latin letters displaying.

With Advanced Font Settings, I can do this:

(This could set different typefaces for Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Latin respectively.)

I'd like to see a new font setting which could tweak all these font displaying things.

Actually, Firefox could do it either, but, in kinda complex way tho, I have to go deep inside the about:config to achieve this:

If lang attributes are specified in a HTML source,
