Microsoft edge the reason I'm losing Chrome bookmarks

I'm experiencing a rather concerning bug. 

I have both Chrome and (new)Edge browsers. I noticed this a few weeks ago where all of my browser bookmarks were gone and I couldn't figure out why. It turns out every time I opened the Edge browser all of my bookmarks from chrome disappeared. 

I tried to play around with a few ideas with the syncing feature by turning both off, one off, and then the other respectively. It all leaded to Chrome trying to gather the info from Edge (when edge sync was off) but not the other way around..

How do I remove all permissions from chrome to search for bookmarks in Edge?

When synced, yes. But Edge still decides to delete it. Hence why I lost it

Was this ever resolved?  When I open Edge, my Chrome bookmarks go away.

Yes, sort of. I turned off the google sync on Edge and haven't had an issue since.

I have the same problem. Can I ask where to turn off google sync on Edge, I couldn't find it?
