Can you download Edge Dev from www.microsoftedgeinsider.com and see if it works? We just made a fix this week for a crash when logging into the browser, and I'm curious if the issue you're running into is that one.

@josh_bodner

Thanks for your reply!
I download Edge Dev( package microsoft-edge-dev_102.0.1220.1-1_amd64.dev ), and installed it.
But the problem still exist, the log is as follow

The problem occurs when i finish fill out  password, and click sign in. I confirm the password is correct, then the edge crashed.

@josh_bodner

I have resolved this problem.
Exactly said, this is not edge's bug. I installed some libraries like libc6 in the past , so that some dependence in my desktop is break, so have this problem.

After i reinstalled my ubuntu 20.04, this problem is disappear. Thanks for your reply.

Glad it's working for you now!

@josh_bodner I'm having this same issue with stable; I just upgraded `dev` to `102.0.1220.1` on Ubuntu 21.04 and reauthed (it's been a while since I used it so it had logged me out). It followed the same auth process as a fresh sign in by the looks of things: no crash. So seems as though your fix has worked!

@josh_bodner i am currently using the Microsoft edge dev version  102.0.1224.0 and i am still facing the same issue. i can't login into my microsoft account throught settings of the edge browser. When i try to sign in, it crashes. i am facing the same issue with microsoft edge stable version as well

@Shuo_Zhan

I met the same issue just now on Ubuntu 20.04. To solve this I installed the beta version and reinstalled the stable version, but that didn't work. Later I tried another way : when seeing this window after clicking the sign in button, I chose "Add Account" instead of the existing account, but added the same account as showed in the picture later and succeeded.

I'm not sure what's the solution to this issue -- reinstall or add the shown account again, but finally it works. Hope this can help you.

I did the "https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/discussions/microsoft-edge-crash-when-i-login-in-my-microsoft..." and it worked. This was on a "Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)", the crash happened on both edge and edgebeta.
I did the same as DonAzufre, is what I ment 🙂

@DonAzufre

Thanks for your reply!!

I tried this way in the past and it didn't work either, I think this is indeed due to my own OS problem. But still thanks for your help!

Could be able to reproduce the issue.

Happens only on accounts that have 2FA authentication.

Regular accounts works ok.

i removed '''~/.cache/Microsoft''' folder and it started working normally
i have archlinux installed and this problem might be linked to profile-sync-daemon-edge package.

 @amore04 solution will probably solve it.

I had the same issue about 2 weeks ago, clicking on links from TEAMS core dumped edge, and login to profile core dumped as well. Deleted the ~/.cache/Microsoft and could login again.

@Shuo_Zhan did: sudo apt install microsoft-edge-dev --fix-missing and it worked on dev version... so, circled back to microsoft-edge-stable and it now works....  So.... removed dev - sudo apt remove microsoft-edge-dev because I don't need 2 versions of the browser.  Am still on 21.10 kubuntu.

@rvcampos Confirmed, removing cache works.

Many thanks
