Latest Edge Dev immediately closes on start.

Copper Contributor

Edge Window blinks and the browser closes in less then a second.

Is there any way I can start in a safe mode? May be more detailed logs?

Here's what I get from the event log:

Files mentioned in this log get deleted as soon as the browser crashes (basically at once), so I cannot grab them to attach here.

I actually managed to fix it. Go to your Edge profile folder, rename it to something else. Start the browser. This time it should not crash. Close the browser. Delete the profile folder that was created. Rename the original folder with profile back. Start the browser again. Works!

Solution
The browser does not close itself when using a new profile. However, when I switch back to my existing "User Data" folder the issue persists.
So I renamed the "Default" folder in "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge Dev\User Data" and started the browser. No crash, but also none of my favs/extensions/etc. Closed out and removed the newly-created Default folder, renamed the original Default folder and no crash! All my stuff is back, with the exception of as sync error which I resolved by signing out & back in again.

Thanks @elastep!
Bad thing is 1% of users will repeat these steps and 99% will just switch to chrome... No interest from devs at all...

@jzemlaNo go for me with the latest Edge build. Tried your trick, but still crashes with the old renamed Default folder. I did get zero crashes with the new Default folder, but now I have to recreate all my favorites.
